The Strand Church

The “Strand Church”, part of the United Reformed Church, is housed in the 1871 Congregational Church building.

As part of our Christian witness and service, we offer our building as a community facility in order to encourage worship, fellowship, service, learning, entertainment education for local residents and visitors.

Because of our commitment to the community we have leased our church buildings to the Strand Community Trust to run it as a community centre. The Strand Church congregation is a tenant alongside other users, paying for the use of the centre for its worship and other activities. Click here to visit the Strand Church website

The Inspire Café is a shared project of the Strand Community Trust and UCADD

The café is open daily as a haven for lonely people and those wanting cheap high quality food that is sourced locally and cooked on the premises. It is open daily from 10.00 to 2.00 (run by Oakwood Court College on Mondays and by Strand Centre volunteers on Saturday. It supports rough sleepers and burdened people can share their troubles in total confidence with café staff. Click here to visit the Inspire Café website
